#02 – ByeBye Dark Circles

An issue which I never faced, has now suddenly occurred during this Lockdown and i.e the DARK CIRCLES !!!
I always wondered why dark circles was such a big deal until I started having them. ?

The main reason for me developing dark circles is spending more than optimum amount of time on my mobile screen/laptop & staying up late than usual.

Before this pandemic, I always made sure I get 8 hours of sleep on most days no matter what in order to actively function the entire day which is also my secret towards having no dark circles at all, however with having so much of time at my disposal and innumerable shows on the internet, my eyes have started to respond in their own little way!

That’s when my Mom gave me some of her tips that she got from her Mom to get rid of these and they do Help, so I thought why not get this into my NANIJI KE NUSKE #02 blog !!

Before I dive into the home remedies I would want to speak about the causes behind these dark circles so that we can even minimise on those rather than just stressing on how to get rid of them.

Dark circles can be caused due to excess mental or physical stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies and what I feel most importantly LACK OF SLEEP.
With the type of schedule that we all follow dark circles are bound to happen but we still can try ways to keep our stress minimal (try meditating or exercising), have a healthy diet and make sure to have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep everyday.

Now coming back to the home remedies:

Cucumber Juice + Turmeric –

Cucumber is very well known for having its cooling effects while Turmeric is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. All you have to do is combine 2 tbsp cucumber juice with 1 tsp turmeric, mix well, take a cotton ball, dip in and apply the paste to your dark circle area. For more easier way you can also cut slices of cucumber and just placed it on your eye covering the whole dark circled area. You can keep both of these on for about 15 minutes and then wash it off.

Tomato Juice + Lemon Juice –

Tomato juice contains solutions that help reducing the dark circles that appear under your eye while Lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C and we all know how important is vitamin C not only for our external body but also internal. Take equal amount of both the juices combine well and use a cotton ball to apply it around your dark circle area leave it for about 10 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water.


Rosewater can be a solution to various skin problems. It not only helps in reviving your face but also has properties that reduce dark circles. Soak cotton pads in rosewater and keep it on your eye covering the whole dark circle area for about 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. This is my favourite method because it requires very little work and does wonders to not only your dark circles but also your entire face.

Potato Slices

Potato slices are not just yummy for the tummy but also surprisingly good for your dark circles. It has properties that can help reduce the darkness of the circle under your eyes. You can use slices of cold raw potatoes, keep them on your eye for about 15 minutes, rinse the area with cold water and pat dry.

These are some of the most economical ways of getting rid of your stubborn dark circles!!
It is definitely not an overnight process and hence you gotta be consistent until you get your desired result.
